Why Add Causes?
Choosing Causes you care about means you control who gets your accumulated shopping donations.
Really, we are not trying to make you do extra work. We just want to give you the control of deciding what great Causes gets to benefit from all the fun you have had and all the donations you have raised while shopping at your favorite retailers on KarmaWell.
Now, you don't HAVE TO add any Causes. IF you choose to do that, there are two different scenarios here.
1. If you have not registered, any KarmaWell donations you accumulate will go into the KarmaWell Fund. This fund will be paid out at the end of the year to a selection of Causes we believe need the most help. We will consult our users and CharityNavigator.org to make the selection of Causes to donate to.
2. If you are registered, and still have not picked a Cause (really, what are you waiting for?) then any KarmaWell donations will going into YOUR master Well. You can store donations in your well as long as you want. Once you pick a Cause(s), then the funds will then be paid out at the next donation payment period.
Yes, we did say you need to register to start Picking the Causes you care about, but that's easy. Just use our Facebook Connect button to login and you are good to go. If you don’t want to use Facebook Connect, no worries… use the KarmaWell Direct Login – see, it’s easy!
The best part of all of this is you get to choose the Causes you care about! Any IRS registered non-profit or 501c3. Heck, we have a list of over 1.5 million of them, so we are sure we have the ones you like. And not only the corporate headquarters – we have most local chapters as well.
Also, we get it – we know searching for a Cause maybe tough at first. We are building the experience to anticipate the challenges such as misspellings (or typos), not knowing the official Cause name or not knowing the right zip code… we will help you out. AND, if you really can't find your Causes after a few tries, CONTACT US through the FEEDBACK button on left of each page of via email at contact_us@karmawell.com, with the Cause name, address (at least city, state) and anything else you might know – we will do the rest and let you know when we have added your Cause(s).
Really, this is the fun part – you get to choose, you get to control, you get to shop, then we donate on your behalf… Pretty good deal!
